Seeking Legal Intern(s) for Launch of Investment Bank focused on Private Equity Funds can be virtual. Prefer NY or Singapore location.

We are seeking 1-3 interns with a legal background who would like to complete a research project for an investment bank focused on working with private equity funds. This can be a virtual internship, but we prefer candidates based in New York and/or Singapore. This is an ideal project for a current or recently graduated law student who is interested in learning more about private equity, venture capital, investment research, social media, and how to build a startup. The role is a minimum 10 hours/week during the school year, and full-time during the summer. Your hours are flexible. We have strong testimonials from interns who have worked with us in the past.

Your core project will be researching what information private equity investors can obtain about private companies via legal filings, and how we can mine that data for the sake of identifying the most attractive possible investments. Among the filings we're interested in: divorce filings, Form D filings, real estate filings.

Another legal issue we wish to research is our obligation, if any, to register for broker/dealer status.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Time permitting, you may work on other analyses, including:
+ Launch of new products
+ Competitive profiling
+ Business model research
+ Research on regulatory environment
+ Industry trend analysis
+ Business plan research
+ Other strategic initiatives

REQUIREMENTS
Our ideal candidate has experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, and/or an operational or marketing role for an internet business. However, we are open to a broad range of candidates. Other pertinent experience includes: strategy consulting, research, working in IT, and of course, law.

We require:
+ Passion about our startup's vision.
+ Highly motivated self-starter who has a track record of continuous self-improvement, high achievement, and aggressiveness.
+ Strong analytical skills. High attention to detail.
+ Strong writing experience. Particularly value a high GPA in writing-dependent courses.
+ Familiarity with major online networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)

We also value:
+ Belief in the Edward Tufte school of communication.
+ Strong verbal communication/sales skills. Experience in debate, public speaking, and theatre is helpful.
+ Familiarity with startup environment
